Due to the amount of problems we've had over the last few weeks regarding outgoing email abuse on the servers, due to user abuse and script compromises, we have placed limits on the server. This is a fairly new feature in cPanel so historically the limits were only addressed in the event of an abuse issue, e.g. reactive. Since cPanel added the ability to limit the amount of outgoing email, we can now manage this proactively.
However, the limit in cPanel is set by an hourly amount. Consequently, we have changed our TOS as follows:
Shared Web Hosting Server Email Policy: Mail Lists: We have a strict policy regarding UCE/Spam on our network, but we do allow use of mailing lists within the constraints of our spam policy. However, sending thousands of e-mails off of a given server can impact the performance of the server. Therefore we limit the amount of e-mail allowed on our Shared Web Hosting Servers to no more than 1000 e-mails per day, 300 emails per hour and 30 emails in 10 seconds per e-mail account.[/li][/list]We hope this will help resolve abuse issues and also reduce chances of our servers being reported to spam blockers. It should also discourage those 'evil doers' from targeting our servers.
